Sofa King Video Requirments

Photobucket

Ok teams I wanted to go over a few things regarding the videos being submitted to give you a heads up. In order to make things easy on the judges and overall editing time, a few rules and guidelines must be followed.
1. All videos must be edited down. (Yes this means you are going to have to find someone who knows how to edit a video, and make it look as clean as possible.)
-What if I don’t have/know anyone that has an editing system? Tough cookies

2. The videos must be submitted in a .mov file format and put on a data DVD. No windows formats, they’re a thing of the past.

3. When filming the video, make sure you clarify everyone’s name throughout the video. People change outfits, so document this by having them simply say their name when filming a new spot. EDIT it in!

4. Look at this competition as a documentary. SO document everything, interview each other about you’re progress; tell a story of some crazy situation, anything. If something crazy happens, it better be on tape. The more dialogue the better, points will be rewarded for this. In the end, all the video submitted are going to be edited down into on big documentary.

If you have questions regarding the video formant or and requirements, send them to sofakingnewengland@gmail.com

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, may I present to you the coolest new project in snowboarding, Sofa King New England.

Tired of hiking that rail jam or planning your slopestyle run? Contests these days are always the same thing; do your trick and receive a score. This format unfortunately does not work for those who'd rather just hang out with friends and film a video part. There's always been that defining line between a contest-jock and the video-kid, you're usually one or the other.

Well that's what we're here to fix. We're taking the laid back approach of filming and combining it with the competitive aspects of a contest. No more pressure to stomp that trick first try. What we've produced is snowboarding's first video scavenger hunt.

Here's the break down:
  • Gather five of your friends to form your team. Each team will consist of four riders, one photographer, and one cinematographer. Twelve teams total.
  • Attend our kick off party January 10, 2009 at Crotched Mountain hosted by Playboy Energy Drink.
  • Take your FREE LIFT TICKETS and travel to Crotched Mountain, Mount Snow, Wachusett, Loon, and Waterville Valley anytime within our thirty day period to find and complete your secret list of objectives. Once you have received your list you have all day to complete as many objectives as possible. On this list you'll find missions such as frontboard the secret wood rail in the glades at Mount Snow, locate the hidden couch atop Loon, and jib an ancient t-bar from the old Crotched Mountain. In between mountains you will also have optional urban adventures to score even more points.
  • Once the thirty days are complete you will have a few weeks to edit all of your footage down to a thirty minute video to present to us. Each team must also present thirty of their best photos from that month.
  • A few more weeks will pass where we'll take all twelve videos and combine and compress them down into our own video which will be shown during the awards party at Loon Mountain.

MORE DETAILS TO COME SOON.
